This exhibition I designed as my final thesis during my studies. It deals with the breaking of imposed rules and stereotypes. The central question that hovers over the content is: ‘What is beauty?’…

It focusses on the image of women today, which is predominantly shaped by social media, and contrasts the artificial,
the fake, self-portraying and perfect woman with one who proudly presents, accepts and loves herself, her body and her ‘flaws’.

The Exhibition contains photography and videography such as interactive aspects and is therefore labelled as an interactive Exhibition. There are various rooms that are portraying the journey the models took and moreover inviting the viewers to take their very own journey to selflove!

I made this exhibition because I have already dealt a lot with the topic of finding self-love in my private life. I have also experienced many situations in which stereotyping, value judgements, disrespect and stupid comments have been made. I want to draw people’s attention to the fact that there is still so much going wrong these days.

But most importantly – I want to empower young women!

To show them how important acceptance and self-love are and that every single one of them is beautiful in her very own way!

Big thanks to the brave models and the two guys who have made the music track(s) for this project: Jona Hakes (Spotify – Jona Hakes) and Noah A. Tripp (aka NOTR).
